EKG TECHNICIAN PROGRAM
The EKG Technician program involves the study of the principles of basic electrocardiography which prepares the technician to perform EKG testing procedures as well as telemetry monitoring in a healthcare setting. It includes basic anatomy and physiology with emphasis on the cardiovascular and respiratory system, as well as interpretation of basic life-threatening arrhythmias. The student will receive hands-on training on an EKG machine in class as you learn to take and interpret EKG readings. Graduates of this program may find entry-level employment as a Telemetry Monitor Technician, or as a 12-Lead EKG Technician.
REQUIREMENTS:
* Interview with Taylor Medical Institute Staff
* 18 years of age
* GED, High School Diploma, or pass entrance exam
* Social Security Card
* Valid State ID/License
* Being a healthcare professional is not mandatory but highly recommended
